Jen and Richard are not just race directors, but have the combined experience of completing over 170 trail races-short to 100 mile mountain races.
Trail running inspires us and we are excited to share that with you through Mountain Peaks Running!
Our focus is simple: Put on races that we would want to run.
We draw upon all of the races we have raced-using what we loved and avoiding what we didn't- to bring you a gold standard race experience. We are committed to setting courses on trails that we would want to run on. You will find our courses challenging, interesting and beautiful. Courses are well marked with great aid stations hosted by amazing, experienced volunteers with safety always our top priority. We want our races to build community and inclusion as we celebrate you and your crazy trail spirit!!!
Jen fell in love hard with trail running, largely at the urging of Richard. After competing in triathlons and adventure racing, slipping on a pair of trail shoes and exploring the technical trail of New England quickly became her favorite thing to share with Richard. Jen worked for ten years in the outdoor and sport industries including Nike, Adidas and Eastern Mountain Sports. Jen also has a background in Xterra, mountain bike and snowshoe racing. Fun Fact: Jen is a USDA certified chainsaw sawyer!
Richard fell in love with trail running on the technical, granite infected trail of New England and never looked back! He has completed more than 60 trail races and this year took the "family record" for the 100 mile distance with an impressive 21:52! Richard co-directed races with Jen on the East Coast and worked for over 8 years in the outdoor and sports industry for Icebreaker and Nike.
